Endgame and Epilogue Slide Dialogue Fixes
Provides fixes for Alistair and Morrigan's endgame dialogue, as well as provides more detailed romance resolutions in the epilogue slides.

UPDATE: VERSION 1.1c (Open Beta)

DIALOGUE FIXES: (FILES ARE IN FOLDER: "ENDGAME DIALOGUE FIXES")

UPDATES -- 1/31/2009:

• Fixed Riordan's dialogue at Redcliffe. Logahin should not speak if he is dead.
• Fixed Bodyguard's dialogue at Redcliffe, issue with silent dialogue and bodyguard mentioning Loghain, even if Loghain is dead.
• Added string to allow Female or Male PC to kill themselves in the Archdemon Fight, instead of Alistair -- even IF the player is in a romance with him OR the player is friendly with him.
• Edited Alistair's dialogue in Ostagar. If PC is not a mage, your PC now has options to respond kind of incredulously (seriously -- what mage wears full armor and carries a great sword?!) and Alistair will respond sheepishly.
• Cleaned up some of Alistair's romantic/king dialogue, to eliminate plot flags misfiring, etc.

FEATURES:
GENERAL FIXES

• Fixes ALL dialogues with Alistair, and others, when he is referred to as King, even if you put Anora on the throne as sole ruler.
• Fixes the "Where is this going?" conversation if you ask him after you revive Arl Eamon. In the vanilla game, he will sometimes act hardened, even if he is NOT hardened. Now, he will always respond appropriately.
• Fixes Morrigan's dialogue before the dark ritual, where she refers to Alistair as King, even if you put Anora on the throne as sole ruler.
• Fixes Morrigan's dialogue before the dark ritual, where she will refer to Zevran and Leliana as your "beloved", even if you are not in the Love range
• Fixes Alistair's dialogue at the city gates in the end battle. You will not have the option to tell him "You need to be King" if Anora is on the throne as the sole ruler.
• Fixes Alistair's dialogue before he kills the Archdemon. Alistair will no longer refer to himself as King if Anora is on the throne as the sole ruler.

SPECIFIC TO FEMALE PC

• Fixes the romance dialogues with Alistair post-Landsmeet, where Anora is the sole ruler. On occasion, Alistair would still: (a) try to break up with you or (b) refer to himself as King (and act hardened, even when the PC did NOT harden him). If Alistair is not hardened and not King, his romance dialogues should now properly reflect that.

SPECIFIC TO MALE PC

• Fixes dialogue with Alistair when he refers to himself as King, even if you are going to be King.
• Fixes Alistair's dialogue at the gates of the Battle of Denerim. You will not have the option to tell him "You need to be King" if YOU are the one who is going to be King AND you have completed Morrigan's dark ritual.

ONE RANDOM FIX

• Fixes Player response to Morrigan if PC is a City Elf. PC will no longer have the option to tell Morrigan that his/her mother "died in childbirth" (which conflicts with earlier information). The response will now be the standard: "My mother died a long time ago."

EPILOGUE SLIDES: MORE DETAILED ROMANCES: (FILES ARE IN FOLDER: EPILOGUE SLIDE CHANGES)

UPDATES -- 1/31/2009:
*Edited slides. Added a section for romance requests (people who requested certain situations) which include the following options:

• Implied, "happier" ending with Morrigan for MALE PCs {{UNTESTED}} -- Should work. Please let me know if this goes all wonky, though.
• Marry Bann Teagan for FEMALE PCs
• Alistair + FEMALE PC have child if PC is EITHER: Mistress OR Queen

*Edited EPILOGUE SLIDE READ ME so that it now shows what epilogue slides are intended for MALES and FEMALES. Before, it looked like all the slides only were for the female PC. That is not the case. Zevran and Leliana's slides are intended for BOTH male and female PCs.

FEATURES:
IMPORTANT: Choose only one "cutscene_slideshow.dlg" file to place in your override folder. ONLY ONE.

Epilogue slide changes comes in two flavors:
1.) MORE DETAILED ROMANCES: Includes changes to:

• Adds more detailed romance resolutions for romanced characters: Alistair, Zevran and Leliana (Zevran and Leliana changes affect BOTH male and female; Alistair is female only)
• Adds an implied, happier ending for Male PCs who romanced Morrigan
• Fixes the bug where Anora would be mentioned as Alistair's Queen, even (a) Your PC is Queen or (b) Anora was in the tower
• Removes mentions of Zevran and Leliana break-up
• Removes mentions of Alistair traveling to Weisshaupt Fortress if your PC is his mistress or Queen
• Removes mention of Alistair traveling to Highever without your PC if you choose to rebuild the Grey Wardens with Alistair
• Changes "princess-consort" to "queen-consort" if your player becomes queen

2.) NON-LORE FRIENDLY REQUESTS:

a.) MALE PC ONLY: MORRIGAN CHANGED

• Leaves ALL epilogue slides exactly the same as the vanilla slides. The only change is the added, happier ending for Morrigan.
• Technically, lore-friendly, since a reunion is implied, vaguely.

NOTE: IF YOU WANT HAPPIER MORRIGAN ENDING + MORE DETAILED ROMANCES, USE THE MAIN MORE DETAILED ROMANCES FILE.

b.) FEMALE PC ONLY: SEVERAL CHOICES
ALL CHOICES ARE ADDED ONTO THE MORE DETAILED ROMANCES BASE.

• Marry Teagan + Heir for Cousland and Mistress -- You can marry Bann Teagan and your Female PC will have a child for Alistair is your PC is his mistress or consort.
• Marry Teagan + Heir for Cousland ONLY -- You can marry Bann Teagan and your Female PC will have a child for Alistair is your PC is his consort.
• Marry Teagan ONLY -- You can marry Bann Teagan.
• No Teagan + Heir for Cousland and Mistress -- Your Female PC will have a child for Alistair is your PC is his mistress or consort. NO Teagan marriage.
• No Teagan + Heir for Cousland ONLY -- Your Female PC will have a child for Alistair is your PC is his consort. NO Teagan marriage.

A NOTE ABOUT LORE: "More Detailed Romances" changes ARE INDEED YES lore-friendly. The FEMALE "Non-Lore Friendly Requests" are NOT lore-friendly. The MALE version with Morrigan is in keeping with lore, I think, since the change is very vaguely implied.

KNOWN ISSUES

IMPORTANT: The end game is notoriously buggy. Some bugs you may encounter might actually VANILLA-GAME bugs. Before you report a bug in the Nexus comments thread, please be aware of the following issues:

• There is a vanilla-game bug in the game that will occasionally have Alistair saying the speech at the Gates of Denerim instead of Anora even if: (a) Anora is the sole ruler and (b) Alistair is obviously not King. No matter what I did, I was not able to resolve this issue. If you have any insight on how to fix this, please feel free to e-mail me or PM me at the Nexus.
• There is a vanilla-game bug that will sometimes have Anora present at Alistair's coronation, even if she is supposed to be locked up the tower. There isn't anything I can do about this. A reload will most likely fix the issue.
• There is a vanilla game bug that will sometimes set Alistair as sole king, even if he is married to Anora. A reload will most likely fix the issue.
• USING CHEATS like the runscript zz_epi_debug cheat WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS even in a vanilla, non-modded game. DON'T DO IT. Using debug cheats is not a good thing to do, anyway.
• Because I had to completely re-route, re-build and re-work NON-KING Alistair's dialogue in the conversations: (1) to convince him to accept Morrigan's ritual and (2) before the Archdeom fight, some of things he says don't absolutely match up with player responses. I took great care to make sure the re-built conversations flowed smoothly, however. Personally, I think it's not noticeable at all and doesn't break immersion, but just so you know.

BUG REPORTING

While this file has been tested by myself and others (see "Credits" section), there might be some things that have been missed or overlooked. If you think you have spotted a bug or inconsistency, please report it in the "comments" section of the Dragon Age: Nexus page. Tell me: (1) If you are patched // (2) What other mods you have installed // (3) Be as specific as absolutely possible about the bug, where it occurred, what it was, etc.

INSTALLATION

1.) Open the zip file.
2.) Open the folder that says "Endgame Dialogue Fixes"
3.) Drag all files into your Bioware --> Dragon Age --> package --> core --> override folder
4.) Open the folder that says "Epilogue Slide Changes"
5.) Read the Read Me files that show what is changed for the epilogue slides.
6.) CHOOSE ONLY ONE "cutscene_slideshow.dlg" file.
7.) Drag the ONE file into your Bioware --> Dragon Age --> package --> core --> override folder.

UNINSTALLATION

1.) Remove all files from your override folder

COMPATIBILITY

This mod is compatible with Vaire's Dialogue Tweaks .93a.
This mod is NOT NOT compatible with Lady Olivia's Alistair Dialog Patch mod.

ALL OTHERS:
This mod will CONFLICT and not be usable with any mod that uses or changes the same files. DO NOT NOT NOT try to use this mod will any other mods that use the same files. NO. DON'T DO IT.
